Over the last year I've gone to V5 for everything. My new bike, parts, clothes, tune ups and expertise. George and Caryl are the best! They've always made me feel welcome and always guided me to make the best decisions when it came to my bike. There isn't another shop like around!
2nd - he works with you to understand your riding skill and expectations and will suggest the appropriate bike. I had a 9 year old Trek that was in for repair and I needed a casing replacement as well as a new rear wheel cause I had(unbeknownst to me) cracked the axle. At that point I wanted to upgrade the bike to have larger tires and disc brakes(I had rubber pads but the frame was outfitted for disc), however, he let me know that the cost of those changes would be close to the cost of a new bike. He pointed out to me that a newer bike would be lighter and have better components. The price was right(he even discounted it and offered to swap some items from my old to the new at no charge), so I bought a Trek Marlin 5. Took it out today and my usual ride was great! Don't miss my old ride and, true to what he told me, the newer equipment was better on my body(large tires lighter frame).
Took my older and much loved Bianchi in to V5 after the chain was repeatedly slipping and shifting became a problem. Afraid my bike has a lot of miles on it, I held my breath as George took a look at the derailleur and cassettes...
I'm a loyal customer from now on!
George rebuilt the derailleur and got it shifting like new! I was back in action the next day! My biggest thanks goes out to V5 - George, Carol and the rest of the team. They are always ready to lend a hand or offer good advice to everyone!
I am a mountain biker. This store is great for tune-ups/repairs as well as for purchasing the right Trek bike for your ability. Details follow.
1st - the repair/tuneup service is excellent. George, the owner, is able to look at your bike and can tell what needs to be fixed by sight alone! I have witnessed it when a technician took my bike and, with one glance, he noticed that my seat was broken(a split in the bracket that I did not know was there), that my rear wheel needed truing and that my chain needed replacement. They are also very meticulous in the work that they perform(down to greasing your shifting cables).

George and Caryl were extremely helpful at V5 Cycles when we were purchasing a new Trek bike. They are very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions and also let us test ride the bikes before we purchased one. We would highly recommend V5 Cycles to any one in the market for a new bike!
